A work of the highest architectural and technological value, the Wind Gallery was designed by architect Renzo Piano and opened in 1997. In this innovative facility, tests are conducted on the Cavallino's cars (full size), inside a tunnel equipped with an air conditioning system for temperature control.
On a treadmill synchronized with wind speed, models can simulate all kinds of trim and movement. The Gallery is located on Grizzaga Street, near the Ferrari plant.
In 1998 Maranello celebrated the 100th anniversary of Enzo Ferrari's birth. One of the "signs" left in the city from the celebrations is the monument dedicated to the founder of the house of the prancing horse, donated to the city by his son Piero.
The statue dedicated to the 'Drake' is a bronze column over five meters high and sixty quintals in weight that depicts the most significant stages of Enzo Ferrari's life. It is' placed next to the town hall to testify to the bond that has always united the car manufacturer with the city that hosts it.
The statue was created by Modenese sculptor Marino Quartieri and is located in Piazza Libertà. The monument to Enzo Ferrari has become one of the most visited places by tourists, but also the mandatory stop for fans after every Ferrari victory.
Worth seeing, the Prancing Horse installation represents the symbolic center of the city of Maranello and the "Ferrari" signature wall placed in Freedom Square.
A few steps away from the factories and the track, in memory of the founder, the great Enzo Ferrari (20/2/1898-14/8/1988), the Galleria Ferrari was built, in which the legend of the house of the prancing horse is told through the display of pictures, historical memorabilia, vintage cars and F1 single-seaters.
The Ferrari Gallery was opened on February 18, 1990. It is a modern and functional facility where vintage and contemporary cars from the famous Maranello automaker are displayed. The large forecourt used as a parking lot is immediately enlivened by a red arch on which red and green lights can be seen, recalling the glamour of the Formula One Grand Prix starting grid.
Inside the Gallery, in addition to vintage cars, modern road cars and single-seaters bearing the prancing horse logo, one can admire the trophies won in motor races contested all over the world by the Ferrari racing team in a setting made particularly evocative by the display of blow-ups of the great drivers who have inextricably linked their names to that of Ferrari. Of great effect for Ferrari fans is the faithful reconstruction of the studio of Eng.
